Badener Höhe mit Friedrichsturm

The 34 m-high Friedrichsturm was built in 1891 on one of the highest outcrops in the region (1002 m). About 1 km along the footpath to the Herrenwieser See there is a memorial to Philipp Bussemer, one of the founding fathers of the Baden-Baden group of the Schwarzwaldverein.

In clear weather, hikers can enjoy an enchanting view over the sea of woods in the northern Black Forest and across the Rhine plain to the Vosges Mountains. The tower was re-opened to the public in May 2003, following extensive renovations carried out by the Schwarzwaldverein Baden-Baden e.V. with the help of many donations.
