To reach the Grindenpfad, it is best to park at the Berghotel Mummelsee. From there, walk along the little tarred path to the left of the hotel up the hill to Hornisgrinde. After about 500 m, you will see the first sign for the Grindenpfad. The path has a total of 12 stations. There you can learn much about the animals, landscape, the moor and climate of the typical heaths called Grinden. Hike along the Bohlenweg across the moor to reach the Bismarckturm and the newly renovated Hornisgrinde Aussichtsturm. When visibility is clear, there are breath-taking views of the Rhine plain and the Vosges Mountains. The path is about 3 km long and is walkable, depending on the weather and amount of snow, from May to October.
