Oppenau, a registered spa town, lies in the Renchtal, a valley between the Rhine and the Black Forest. The endless woods, hidden valleys and the Black Forest mountains offer the perfect opportunity to take to your bike, hike or do a spot of paragliding. The old traditions and way of life are still to be found here. The old monastic ruins „Allerheiligen“ with the untouched 83 metre high waterfalls and the historical old part of the town reflect the history of the region. The culinary aspects of the Renchtal region should not be overlooked, the traditional Baden-Alsace cuisine as well as excellent fine brandies and wines.
